It is all to wonderful to find that I can get my personal mobility from sunshine. Photovoltaics (PV) are a miracle. A solid state device that I can put out in the sun and make electricity. Two wires and no moving parts - couldn't be simpler. I (like hundreds of other electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts) converted a ICE gasoline vehicle to battery electric. I recharged it with PV panels and made my five mile daily commute one summer on sunshine. And like anyone that gets THE ANSWER I wanted to tell everyone. But I find as a solar jehova not many people really want to make the effort. If there were a free market for mobility here is how it would work. If your car gets 30mpg and gas is $3/gal you are getting 10 Miles Per Dollar (MP$). Any good EV will get 100 MP$. Lets see ... ten times the mobility per dollar and no CO2, no price increase ever, no life threatening pollution... Why don't we all just do it?
